The best way for the people of the Southeast region to begin to attract attention from both the national and at states’ level is for everyone to unite together on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA as the party has been described as a veritable vehicle for the pursuit of political relevance for Ndigbo.

This was made known during a stakeholders’ meeting convened by the APGA Candidate in the 2023 general elections for Bende Federal Constituency and currently the party’s National Deputy Auditor Barrister Ogbumba Eme held at his Amaiyi residence, Igbere Autonomous Community Bende LGA of Abia state.

Barrister Ogbumba who recounted his bitter experience in the last election expressed hope that lessons have been learnt adding that it was by an act of God that he came into APGA culminating into his being appointed to serve as part of the National Working Committee of the party which he said has further galvanized him for the task ahead.

The APGA National officer maintained that Abians and the Southeast have a lot to gain both locally and nationally if everyone can unite under a party that shares the ideals of Ndigbo like APGA to push their course, stressing that though having national relevance with its political wings spread across the nation, APGA has overtime shown that the interest of Ndigbo is more protected and respected under its platform.

He commended the Bende stakeholders for being steadfast and sticking with the party through thick and thin as he expressed optimism that APGA’s presence in Bende would be strong and felt across the length and breadth of the LGA going forward. He called on all present to go back home and preach the APGA gospel through prioritizing information dissemination and assured to give his support to this course.

Responding, the APGA Chairman for Bende LGA Aaron Okoji alongside his Secretary Nmecha Isaiah called for total jettisoning of the culture of imposition of unpopular candidates which they said contributed largely to the party’s poor outing in the 2023 election in Abia. They made some demands including having a party secretariat for the LGA, having the option of manual registration of members alongside the ongoing online registration amongst other demands.
