Korea 2007 U-17 World Cup winning goalkeeper, Dele Ajiboye, is set for a sensational return to Nigeria Professional Football League side, 3SC, nine years after he last played for the Oluyole Warriors.

The fringe Super Eagles keeper joined 3SC from Spanish club Pontevedra in 2011 and spent two years in Ibadan before signing for Nasarawa in 2013.

The 32-year-old had since played for Warri Wolves and Plateau United, with the latter his last employees before the expiration of his contract.

Speaking with newsmen, the Osogbo-born keeper said talks were ongoing with 3SC.

“All things being equal, I should start next season playing for 3SC,” he said.

“Discussions are ongoing between both parties, but nothing concrete yet because we still have some details to sort out.

“They have reached out to me and I hope we can have things finalised because 3SC are a great club and they will forever remain in my heart. I hope the details can be sorted out so I can focus and begin preparations for the new season.”

Ajiboye is fondly remembered for the double penalty saves he made at the U-17 World Cup final against Spain in Korea that helped Nigeria claim their third cadet title.

The goalkeeper made his first senior appearance for Nigeria in 2018 at the African Nations Championship in Morocco where they lost 4-0 in the final to the hosts.
