Abia: OMPAN Congratulates Emereuwa, Meregini on Emergence as Speaker, Deputy Speaker Abia State House of Assembly

The Abia Online Media Publishers under the auspices of the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN) congratulates the Speaker of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emereuwa and the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Austin Meregini on their emergence at the just concluded election and inauguration of principal officers of Abia House of Assembly.

In a statement jointly signed by the Acting Chairman of the association, Nneka Torti, and the General Secretary Steve Unegbu, made available to Newsmen after the association’s bi-monthly general meeting held in Umuahia on Friday 16th of June,2023, enjoined the Speaker and his deputy to work with colleagues and synergize with the executive arm of the government to make laws for a prosperous Abia State.

It reminded them that they are expected to pilot the affairs of the House without prejudice and ensure that they carry every member of the House of Assembly along irrespective of political affiliation.

There was no doubt in your ability to lead the 8th Abia State Assembly because of your pedigree and intimidating track record and your emergence is an attestation that the majority of Abia House of Assembly members believe in your capacity to steer the leadership of the house to enact laws that will help the Executives to give dividends of democracy to Ndi Abia.

OMPAN as the watchdog of the society is looking forward to working with you to ensure that Abians are given the best in this present democratic dispensation.
