Abia Assembly Inspects Projects in Isiala Ngwa South as Residents Applaud Alex Otti, Ceaser

As part of its oversight function, the Abia State House of Assembly on Wednesday February 18 embarked on an on-the-spot assessment of projects completed and ongoing executed in Isialangwa South Local Government Area of the state comprising of road infrastructure, schools, health centres and electricity projects.


At the Alaukwu Primary Health Centre, Omoba Ward 7, the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) and Ward Focal Person Chioma Okebugo commended the House Member representing Isialangwa South State Constituency, Hon. Ceaser Rowland Chiwendu for being of immeasurable assistance in providing some medical supplies in the years past, as she commended the governor Dr Alex Otti for massive work being carried out by his administration to reposition the health sector.

When the On-the-Spot assessment train stopped at Ugboalekere Umunkpei Isialangwa South, the village head Samuel Okechukwu confirmed that the transformer provided to them by the government has been energized and optimally functional, as he expressed appreciation for the rehabilitation of their road which said was hitherto impassable.

Moving from there to Amaiyi Primary Health Centre Enyiogugu Ward, the oversight team met the Officer-in-Charge Nnadi Chiamara who commended the efforts of the present administration, but enumerated the challenges faced.

Speaking during the tour, the member leading the oversight delegation, Member representing Umuahia Central who also doubles as the Chairman House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Chinansa Abiola lauded the Governor for what he described as tackling the needs of the people head-on, as he called on the people to support the governor and their House Member to sustain the good work.

He called on the hospital management to imbibe maintenance culture by protecting the facility and equipment under their care.

Speaking earlier, the Member representing Isialangwa South State Constituency, Hon. Ceaser Rowland Chiwendu noted that having carried out oversight function expected of a legislator, he commended the governor, but noted that he would draw the attention of the governor to areas needing attention.

Dailytrail news reports that some of the projects visited include Umuoba Central Modern School, Amano Technical School, Umuotiri Health Centre Amaede, Umoba Amiri Itungwa Road amongst several others.


The entourage saw the presence of younger brother to the governor, Leo Otti, traditional ruler of Alaukwu Umuoba Autonomous Community His Royal Majesty Eze Friday Onyebuchi Amanze, youth leaders, women groups, amongst others.
