Abia @ 32: Ezekwesili tasks Otti on transformation, as State orientation agency launched

Former minister of education Dr Obiageli Oby Ezekwesili has called on Abia state governor Dr. Alex Otti to transform Abia into a major economic hub through manufacturing and job creation for the youths of the state.

This call came in a lecture delivered by the former minister and the convener of the bring back our girls movement at the last leg of the week long 32 years anniversary celebrations of the creation of Abia which held at the international conference Centre Umuahia.

The ceremony also witnessed the launch of the reinvigorated Abia orientation Agency by the governor. This agency will drive the reset agenda of governor Otti in changing the mindset of Abians from the old pattern of doing things to a collective effort in the advancement of the state.

Contributing, the former President, Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa commended Ezekwesili on her lecture which he described as apt, stressing that Abia was ready to move to a greater stage as elaborated by the guest lecturer.

On his part, the Director General of ABSOA, Pastor Dike Nwankwo, who explained what the agency is all about, described it as a new dawn in the state, noting that there was a need for a change in the way the people live and behave for the overall good of the state.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of notable Abia sons and friends including Dr. Samson Ogah, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, chairman of the Abia state Traditional Rulers’ council and famous entertainer charlyboy amongst others.
