Yesterday, the 5th of May 2024, featured a spectacular and uncommon display of humility, love and dedication by Rt. Hon. Ben Kalu during his 53rd birthday celebration.

As Nigeria’s number six citizen(as the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives), you would have expected to see glamour and glee(Nollywood greats, top National Politicians and Governors) – like the type we witnessed in the Senate President’s birthday celebration.

There was none of that on offer.

His guest list would surprise you: Association of Pensioners in Abia State; School of blind persons in Abia State; Motherless babies homes in Ahiaeke and Uzuakoli; People with physical challenges; the Elderly Women and Men and the Widows and Vulnerable from the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia State(including Ikwuano).

The top National Politicians present were only there to support his “servant-leader” mentality. Ikwuano was duly represented by Rt. Hon. Sam I. Onuigbo(South East representative at the Board of North East Development Commission) and our own Elton Onwu(an APC major Political Stakeholder).

Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu fed some of the blinds, widows and other vulnerable across the 17 Local Government Areas with his hands.

This was emulated by the top Politicians present: Rt. Hon. Sam I. Onuigbo; Rt. Hon. Stanley Ohajuruka; Rt. Hon. Martin Azubuike; Chief Emeka Wogu(former Minister of Labour); Chief Don Ubani; and our own Elton Onwu. You are all appreciated. Keep up the good works.
