Gov. Otti to flag off reconstruction of Umuahia – Ozuakoli – Ohafia road

Abia state governor Dr. Alex Otti will on Wednesday the 7th of February flag off the reconstruction of the Umuahia – Ozuakoli – Ohafia road.

The road which connects Abia central to Abia north is a major gateway to Ebonyi state and Akwa – Ibom state in the south south region.
The rehabilitation work will be handled in three sections by three different construction firms.

This was made known to newsmen at government house Umuahia by the commissioner for information Prince Okey Kanu after the weekly executive council meeting.

The state government says is also carrying out maintenance work on twenty two roads spread across Umuahia, Aba and other parts of the state while three specific roads- Umuode road, Bakassi road and Umuehilegbu road all located in the Ariaria market area have been procured by the government for reconstruction the commissioner informed newsmen.

The government says it has also outlawed multiple tax forces in the state in line with it’s policy to rid the streets of touts adding that it will unveil a unified single multi-purpose outfit to soon take up the work of the disbanded groups.


The government is soon to enforce the order on the removal of illegal attachments to buildings in the state capital in a bid to give the Abia state capital Umuahia a befitting outlook the commissioner also emphasised.
